Open Question: Why do celebrities always get "too good" for the shows that shot them to fame?

Example: Katherine Heigl. I understand that she wants to be a "movie star" but can't she give a little more respect to the show AND the fans that made her career? It's like they get to a certain level of celebrity and they're all of a sudden to important for the shows that made them famous in the first place.
